Presently, there are many random bugs that are very hard to track down due to the current implementation of the app as of now. After touching base with ksbarnes/SkyAG, it sounds like I will continue to oversee maintenance of this repository going forward. ksbarnes probably knows this application better than anyone else, so keep an eye out for his comments on issues/PRs.

Ryan was able to share with me some of his findings and code while Brandon may be able to help point me in the right direction when I encounter roadblocks. Additionally, this line of contact will likely be helpful when I can get around to this.

This has helped give some further information as to where some additional improvements can be made until I can find the time to write this as more of an actual driver component, compared to relying on intermediary libraries like libusb and vjoy. I have also been in recent contact with Ryan and Brandon, whose code/findings serve as the basis of this program. Please feel free to tag him in any pull requests as well so that we can get to it sooner and/or so that we can benefit from his input as the original author.

He is now added as a collaborator to this repository and will be able to contribute with full access. In a fortunate turn of events, I managed to reconnect with the original author of this project, SkyAG/ksbarnes when he reached out on this repository.

See the Readme.txt inside the archive for more details. There isn't too much being installed, and I believe everything can be un-done but, use at your own risk. Additional thanks to SkyAG/ksbarnes, who first wrote and maintained this codebase prior to the Google Code shutdown.ĭisclaimer: As this is free, open-source software I hold no liability for any damages it may cause to you or your equipment.

Special Thanks to Ryan and Brandon who's source code this project is based on. Its been tested on Windows XP, Windows 7 64-Bit, and Windows 8 64-bit with decent success. This application will allow you to use your Xbox 360 Wireless Controllers + Attached Chatpads on a Windows PC cordless through an Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver. Glad I found it, and glad I had a genuine one to compare it to.Project moved from /p/xbox360wirelesschatpad This adapter can serve several useful functions. Especially given what they charge to purchase a used controller, rip off.

If like so many people you have a bunch of 360 controllers lying around with no use for them, their trade in value is virtually nil so that's a waste. For gaming, pretty much all games these days have controller support. You just need that app I mentioned on Steam for like $3 if you want to use it as a mouse n KB. No need to worry about installing software, Windows does all the work automatically. One of these can be an extremely cost effective and convenient way to control your computer from a distance or if you just want a controller to game with. Preferably with a chat pad as it really speeds up typing. If you already have an Xbox 360 controller, with or without a chat pad. I examined mine closely and it did appear to be new and unused. If it says Xbox or 360 on it, it's gen eric. It can be either black or white, the white ones are older. It has to say Microsoft on the top with a status indicator light on the bottom with a button in the middle of the top side. Anyway, this one was the only one I could track down that is a legitimate Microsoft adapter.

I primarily use it for my Controller Companion app for Windows, which allows you to use a controller like a mouse and keyboard. I bought a new one Years ago and it has never failed to work correctly. The reason I spent a bit more money for this particular wireless USB adapter for Xbox 360 controllers for Windows is because I wanted to be certain that there would be no compatibility issues with it as there might be with a generic adapter.
